The annual Rato Machchindranath chariot festival, the longest running
cultural festival in Patan, concluded after the 'Bhoto Jatra' ceremony on
Saturday.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and other
dignitaries attended the Bhoto (costume) ceremony at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.
The festival comes to an end after the Bhoto is displayed amid a public
function at Jawalakhel.
Locals of Patan and surrounding areas pull the chariot of Rato
Machchhindra, the god of rain and good harvest, around the city for a
month. This year's chariot procession, which started on April 26 got
