Maoist politburo meeting put off for a day
The politburo meeting of the Unified CPN (Maoist), which is going on for
almost two weeks, has been put off till Monday due to the busy schedule of
top leaders.
In the next meeting, party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is to answer the
queries and criticism on his political report.
The politburo meeting taking place at the office of Maoist sister
organisations in Koteshwor has seen extensive debate on Dahal's 19-page
report with Mohan Baidya-led hardliner faction criticising it for
deviating from the policy of 'people's revolt' to establish 'people's
republic'.
In the report, Dahal, who commands a slim majority in the politburo, has
emphasised that the party's immediate priority should to form a 'national
government' after compelling the new ruling coalition to rectify the
President's constitutional move against the sacking of the army chief
dismissed by the previous government. nepalnews.com June 28 09
