Writ challenges PLA recruitment
A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court Thursday challenging
the fresh recruitments being conducted by the People's Liberation Army
(PLA).
Advocates Sri Krishna Subedi, Tanka Raj Aryal and Ram Krishna Kafle, who
are associated with INHURED International, a human rights group, filed the
writ petition, stating that the PLA recruitment is against the
comprehensive peace process (CPA) and demanding court order to stop the
recruitment process.
A similar case filed by INHURED International against the new recruitments
in Nepal Army is awaiting the apex court verdict.
The PLA commander Nanda Kishor Pun 'Pasang' has said recruitment process
would not stop unless the NA does the same.
Reports said some 300 youths filed applications to join the PLA on
Wednesday when the recruitments opened. nepalnews.com Mar 05 09
