SC issues interim order to stop PLA recruitment
The Supreme Court issued an interim order to the government and the army
integration special committee (AISC) on Sunday to stop the fresh
recruitment being conducted by the Maoist People's Liberation Army (PLA).
A single bench of Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma issued the interim order
on a writ petition filed by INHURED International, a Kathmandu-based human
rights group.
The writ filed on Thursday stated that the recruitment by the PLA runs
counter to comprehensive peace process (CPA). Earlier, the rights group
had challenged Nepal Army recruitments in the apex court, but the final
verdict is still awaited.
The PLA, which is now under the AISC, opened vacancies last week in
