PLA may defy AISC, SC orders
The Maoist combatant chief has said they may continue recruitment in the People’s Liberation Army despite orders from Supreme Court and Army Integration Special Committee (AISC), if Nepal Army did not stop recruitment.
Talking to state-run Radio Nepal Monday morning, PLA commander Nanda Kishor Pun said the decision to stop recruitment must apply to Nepal Army as well, not only to his force.
He expressed hope that the AISC would instruct both the forces to stop further recruitment until the military integration and rehabilitation process ends.
Pun also said he has not received any formal notification from the committee with instruction to stop the enrollment process, further adding that the instruction would be sent to both the forces.
The Supreme Court has also issued order, similar to one issued to Nepal Army earlier, to stop any recruitment until the court gives final verdict. The case of the Nepal Army has been sent to full court for final hearing.
Following the court order, the eight-member AISC decided to ask PLA to stop recruitment process. nepalnews.com Mar 09 09
