NC names its by-election candidates

The main opposition Nepali Congress has named its candidates for the six Constituent Assembly seats to be elected through by-election on April 10.

A meeting of the party's parliamentary committee finalised the names of the by-election candidates Wednesday. The NC has nominated President Dr Ram Baran Yadav's son Chandra Mohan Yadav as the candidate in Dhanusha-5.

President Yadav, who was elected as the CA member from that constituency, had vacated the seat after being elected to the top post. Chandra Mohan, a medical doctor, had not been in active politics.

Likewise, the NC has named Jagannath Singh Gangain for Morang-5, hekhar Koirala for Morang-7, Deepka Gurung for Kaski-1, Ganga Ram Dangi for Rolpa-2 and Yagya Raj Joshi for Kanchanpur-5. nepalnews.com mk Mar 11 09
