Revenues collection soars to Rs 84.4 billionThe government has collected Rs 84.4 billion revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, up by 38.6 percent against Rs 60.71 billion during the same period last year.
According to the finance ministry, the increased amount of Rs 23.42 billion is a record increase in the history of revenue collection in the country.
“The Voluntary Disclosure of Income Sources (VDIS) contributed Rs 470 million to the total collection while other reform programmes also have a role to play to achieve this success,’ said Krishna Hari Baskota, revenue secretary at the finance ministry.
The government aims to increase its income by 31.7 percent to materialize the target of Rs 142 billion this year.
