Govt to form supply department

Minister for Supplies and Rajendra Mahato has on Monday said that the proposal to allow the private sector to distribute petroleum products will be reviewed by the finance committee.

He also divulged that the government will establish a Department of Supplies within a few days in order to streamline the supply situation in the country.

The Commerce Department has so far been overseeing the supplies sector.

While speaking at a press meet in Bhairahawa, Mahato said the both the departments would come up with new policies as there has been heavy workload on the Commerce Department.
