FM Bhattarai stresses on agriculture for economic development
Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai Wednesday said the government has
laid special emphasis on the agriculture sector as Nepal is chiefly an
agricultural country, adding that the current fiscal year's budget hopes
to achieve economic development through it.
Inaugurating the 12th Floriculture Trade Festival-2065 that started in the
capital city Wednesday, Minister Bhattarai said the present government
intends to develop an industrialized economy than import-oriented one.
Some 52 nurseries from all over the country are participating in the
festival. They will showcase varieties of flowers and plants during the 5
day event.
According to the Floriculture Association of Nepal, the organizer of the
event, people will not only be able to see a wide display of flowers and
plants but will also be able to buy them during the festival.
Organizers said flower competition will also be held during the event in
