PATA to unleash its Nepal venture

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is set to organise an Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart in Nepal in 2010.

Supported by PATA's Nepal Chapter, the event is slated to take place from February 1 to 5, 2010, in Kathmandu.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) will acting as the host of the event.

The date for the proposed conference was finalised during Minister for Tourism Hisila Yami’s visit to PATA’S ITB in Berlin.

“This is a travel mart dedicated to sellers and buyers involved passionately in a significant niche travel segment. We’re looking to create an exciting event for buyers and sellers of the very latest adventure destinations and products,” media reports quoted PATA events director Sheila Leong as saying.

The conference on ‘Responsible Tourism’ sheds light on PATA’s commitment in this field and details of the agenda and speakers will be released soon, it is said. nepalnews.com Mar 26 09
