Fuel transporters announce strike from Sunday
Petroleum products transporters have announced an indefinite strike from Sunday in order to exert pressure on Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to nullify its decision to replace old tankers with new ones.
According to media reports, the Federation of Petroleum Products Transporters took the decision to venture into strike in protest of the NOC decision to replace tankers older than 20 years.
The transporters have termed the NOC decision as illogical.
Consumers in Kathmandu Valley are bound to reel under severe shortage of petroleum products due to the strike.
Around 1,200 petroleum tankers are operating across the country. nepalnews.com Mar 29 09
