Experts urge govt to spend on development works
Experts on Saturday asked the government to spend on development works to help the economy move ahead smoothly.
They made the appeal while speaking at an interaction held in the capital on Saturday.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) governor Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri suggested the government to make investment to kick-start development activities to generate opportunities.
Economist Dr Madan Dahal stated that expenditure on development projects can help bolster the economy. “Liquidity in market will play vital role to cope with recession,” Dahal added.
Another economist Dr Chiranjivi Nepal bemoaned that sectors like remittance, export and the real estate have already started to feel the heat of the global economic crisis.
Remittance has gone down by $1.2 million in last two months as Nepali foreign employment sector has started to feel the follow-on effects of the global crisis. nepalnews.com Mar 29 09
