Fuel supply to be further hit as NPTA backs dealers' strike

Nepal Petroleum Transporters Association (NPTA) has on Monday announced its support to the ongoing protest programme of Nepal Petroleum Dealers' Association (NPDA).

The NPDA will refrain from collecting petroleum products from depots of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) from Monday.

During a programme held at Hetauda, NPTA members stated that it would fully reinforce the stike unleashed by the NPDA.

The agitation by both associations is bound to further worsen the supply of petroleum products in Kathmandu valley.

The NPDA claimed that the decision of the government to provide Rs 10 subsidy per liter of diesel to industries and hotels had encouraged corrupt activities.

According to the NPDA, this move has also created disruption in the petroleum transaction.

It has also criticized the government's indifference towards the demand to provide it a three 3 percent commission on the sale of petroleum products. nepalnews.com nd Mar 30 09
