New industrial policy more focused on promoting small scale industries:

Minister for Industry Astha laxmi Shakya on Monday said that the new
industrial policy has incorporated special provisions to expedite the
growth of micro, cottage and small industries (MCSI).
While speaking at a talk programme held in the capital, she said," Since
the overall economic development hinges on sustainable growth of small
scale industries, the new industrial policy has come up with special
incentives to spur such industries."
She also urged the media to help the government in encouraging the small
scale enterprises by give more coverage to them.
Speaking at the same occasion, Surendra Bir Malakar, president, Nepal
Chamber of Commerce (NCC), stated that the growth of cottage and small
industries can play pivotal role in mitigating the severe unemployment
problem dogging the country.
Other key speakers of the program also said that the concentrated approach
to bolster the cottage and small industries will help in generating
substantial self-employment opportunities in the country.
They also asked the government to extend support in developing media
