Combatants detained for videotape leak

Some Maoist combatants have been taken in custody as per the directives of the party headquarter after the controversial video of chairman Prachanda addressing a training session in Shaktikhor became public, Nepal Samacharpatra reported.

The party has detained members of the video unit and some suspected combatants dubbing entry of ‘enemies’ in its army, the daily has reported quoting Maoist sources.

The Maoist army has increased alertness to prevent similar activities in other divisions and cantonments. Maoist army has concluded that its combatants were lured by money to sell the video.

Meanwhile, female combatants with children staying in various cantonments have been sent for a home leave keeping in view the latest political crisis.nepalnews.com May 07 09
