Nepal karate team wins team championship

Nepal has clinched the team championship of the third NSKA International Karate Championship leapfrogging India and Iran.

Nepal won 15 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze medals to lift the award while India won seven gold, seven silver and 14 bronze medals to place second while Iran finished third with four gold and three silver.

In the WKF events, Nepal won an additional 22 gold, 20 silver and 18 bronze medals. The tournament was organised by the Nepal Shotokan Karate Association. nepalnews.com bt May 29 09
