PM inaugurates Civil Service Hospital
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has inaugurated the Civil Service Hospital located in Minbhawan, Kathmandu Saturday morning.
The 132-bed hospital constructed under Chinese assistance came into operation last year.
Inaugurating the hospital PM Nepal thanked the Chinese government for perpetual support in Nepal’s development and expressed hope for continued support. Nepal said the establishment of the hospital had further strengthened the Sino-Nepal relations.
Some 86,000 civil servants and their families are entitled to get free or subsidized treatment at the hospital.
PM Nepal said the establishment of the hospital would encourage the civil servants to deliver better service to the public.
“It is the responsibility of the government to take care of the basic needs of civil servants. They will be encouraged to provide better service if their needs are taken care of,” Nepal said.
The hospital was constructed on a 27,650 Sq metre land at the cost of 59.25 m Chinese Yuan under the agreement between Nepal and China in May 2001. nepalnews.com May 30 09
