Temporary teachers of govt schools stage overnight protest in front of education ministry
Some 300 teachers of various government schools are staging an overnight sit-in demonstration in front of the education ministry in Kesharmahal, Kathmandu, Sunday demanding permanent status.
The teachers, working at temporary status in government schools since many years, have demanded for a permanent status by ammending the existing regulations.
According to Nirendra Kunwar, chairman of the Temporary Teachers Agitation Committee, the sit-in protest that started at 3 pm, Sunday will end at 11 am, Monday.
The temporay teachers have been protesting with various programmes in the capital demanding permanent status since past few months. nepalnews.com
