NTY-2011 along with birthplace of Lord Buddha promoted in Germany

Nepal promoted Nepal Tourism Year 2011 (NTY-2011) in the ITB Berlin, the world’s biggest travel fair with the themes “Nepal as the birth place of Lord Buddha and the cradle of Buddhism” from March 9 to 13, 2011.

According to the press released issued by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Monday, the five-day long fair witnessed huge enquiries and interest from the visitors regarding tourism year, special packages and offers for the NTY-2011.

Nepal also organised a press conference where more than 60 media representatives and tour operators from Germany assembled and showed keen interest about Nepal as unique holiday destination and the nation with immense attraction for visitors from all age groups and interests.

On the occasion, ambassador of Nepal to Germany, Suresh Pradhan said that “Nepal is all prepared to welcome the German visitors in the year 2011 which expects to record the figures of at least 50,000 Germans in the campaign year 2011”, reads the press statement.

The fair was participated by NTB along with the largest ever delegation of 23 leading travel companies from Nepal.

The ITB Berlin 2011 had 11000 exhibitors from 188 counties. A total of 110,000 trade people and 700plus media professionals from 92 countries including a total of 170,000 people visited the trade fair. The ITB Berlin 2012 will be held from 7 to 11 March 2012 having Egypt as the partner country. nepalnews.com
