Adhikari bags Ghan´s Open golf tournament title

Ramesh Adhikari won the title of Ghan´s Open golf tournament at the Army Officers´ Golf Club on Thursday defeating Rabi Khadka and Shiva Ram Shrestha.

Adhikari is from Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC), who carded two-under 70 for the total 280 while Khadka carded one-over 73 for the total of seven-under 281.

Similarly, Shrestha shot four-over 76 on the first day and carded two-under 70 for the total two-under 286 on the concluding day.

Adhikari also shot five birdies against three bogeys while Khadka shot three against four on the last day of the match.

With the fabulous performance, the 23-years old Adhikari managed to secure a maiden victory and bagged Rs. 60,000 cash prize while Khadka and Shrestha had to settle at Rs. 40,000 and 30,000 cash prize respectively.

Toran Bikram Shahi secured the fourth position and awarded Rs. 24,000. Similarly, Sanjay Lama, Umesh Nagarkoti and Yelamber Singh Adhikari shared the fifth position.

The four-day long tournament saw 28 professional and 12 top amateurs who played over 72 holes. This tournament was sponsored by Ghana Shyam Thapa and this is the second event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2011-12. nepalnews.com
