| Big three agree to form SRC tomorrow, but differ over its composition, leadership
Top leaders of the three major parties have decided to nominate the members of the State Restructuring Commission (SRC) by tomorrow. The SRC
will comprise leaders from three major parties UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) including United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)
The decision to this effect was reached at the meeting of the three parties held at Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Singha Durbar,
The meeting, called to discuss the composition of the State Restructuring Commission (SRC) and the extension of the Constituent Assembly's term, which expires on November 30, hit a stalemate after all three parties started laying their respective claims to the leadership of SRC and also disputed over the number of members in it.
The leaders also discussed possible names to be appointed as SRC members as well as its mandate.
The three parties also tried to reach an agreement on the duration of extension of the CA term during the meeting. Prime Minister Baburam
Bhattarai has proposed six-month extension of the CA term.
