Stock investors announce protest
Three investors' associations - Nepal Investor Forum, Nepal Stock Investors' Association and General Investors' Association - have
announced a series of protests citing government's utter disregard towards the issues concerning the stock market.
The associations on Wednesday jointly announced the protest programme starting from April 15, saying that the government has been indifferent
towards the stock market and has failed to saveit from further deteriorating condition even after frequent request of the investors.
The investors also said that government is not serious towards saving stock market as Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged to around 300 points from 1175 points while Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai was serving as the country's Finance Minister.
They also claimed that PM Bhattarai-led government's policy is to bring foreign investment by neglecting domestic investors. nepalnews.com |
