AISC task force forges consensus on disputed issues of integration
The task force formed under the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) Thursday forged consensus on the disputed issues related to the army integration.
The meeting of the task force held at AISC office, Constituent Assembly building in New Banewshor reached an agreement on the rank harmonisation, training and bridge course for the Maoist combatants to be integrated into the Nepal Army. Similarly, the meeting also agreed on the structure of directorate to be formed under the NA and the mechanism for integrating the combatants. However, the details of the decision have not been disclosed.
Emerging from the meeting, Finance Minister and task force member Barsha Man Pun said that they reached understating on the outstanding issues of the integration and the decision will be formalised on Friday after holding discussions in the meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties.
The AISC on Wednesday had formed a four member task force comprising Barshaman Pun of the UCPN-Maoist, Minendra Rijal of Nepali Congress, Bhim Rawal of CPN-UML and Jitendra Dev of MJF-D. nepalnews.com
