US welcomes recent progress in peace process

The United States has welcomed recent progress in ongoing peace process of Nepal.

Issuing a press statement, Kathmandu- based US embassy said recent developments were the significant advances toward concluding peace process.

The embassy said handover of the Maoist cantonments and weapons marked a milestone in peace process.

"We applaud the national political leadership for their determination and statesmanship at this crucial juncture," added the statement.
