UCPN (Maoist) politburo member and former minister Janardan Sharma, who is suffering from Japanese Encephalitis, was airlifted to New Delhi on an air ambulance Monday evening after his condition deteriorated.

Sharma has been taken to Medanta, a super specialty hospital in Gurgaon from New Delhi. Doctors at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, where he had been undergoing treatment for the last three days, referred him to New Delhi after he showed no improvement.
