Effective leadership necessary to mobilise national army: CoAS Gurung

Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung Wednesday said that effective leadership was necessary in the country to mobilise the national army's capacity.

Speaking at a programme organised at the Army Academy in Kharipati to confer insignia to the newly trained officers for the Second Lieutenant Post, CoAS Gurung also highlighted the role of Nepali Army in taking the country's peace process to its logical conclusion.

The Army Chief also informed that Maoist combatants, their arms and containers as well as the logistics at the camps have now come under the Nepal Army's jurisdiction.

Gurung also directed the officers to work for protecting the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the national unity. Nepalnews.com
