| Nepal, Uruguay establishes diplomatic relations
Nepal has established diplomatic relations with South American nation Uruguay.
Gyan Chandra Acharya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations and Jose Luis Cancela, Ambassador and Permanent
Representative of Oriental Republic of Uruguay have signed on a joint communiqué Wednesday in New York on behalf of their respective governments for the establishment of diplomatic relations.
According to a statement issued by Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN, while signing the Joint communiqué, two Ambassadors expressed their
confidence that the relations between Nepal and the Uruguay will be further deepened and widened in the days ahead for mutually beneficial
cooperation between the two countries. Furthermore, the bilateral relationship would also help further strengthen cooperation at the
multilateral level to promote international peace, security and development.
Uruguay is a country in the South American continent situated between Brazil and Argentina which became the member of the United Nations on 18 December 1945. Uruguay is also a founding member of MERCOSUR (The Southern Cone Common Market), which includes Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. nepalnews.com
