UCPN (M), NC 'ready' for package agreement on thorny issues
Leaders of the UCPN (Maoist) and the Nepali Congress have agreed to settle all the contentious issues of the constitution in a package.
A meeting of the senior leaders of the two parties held at Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat Saturday continued discussion aimed to settle the disputes.
NC vice president Ram Chandra Poudel said the two parties agreed to resolve the issues altogether from a meeting of the three parties and the Madhesi Front scheduled to take place today.
Maoist secretary Post Bahadur Bogati claimed the two parties reached tentative agreement on state restructuring and form of governance and that the agreement would be finalised from the meeting of all major political parties including the Madhesi Front. However, he did not divulge the details of the "tentative agreement".
The Maoist and NC leaders had met at Dahal's residence Friday as well. nepalnews.com
