PM Bhattarai assures 'pro-people' statute by May 27 deadline

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday assured that Nepal will have a "pro-people" constitution by the May 27 deadline, adding that the
political actors are constantly working towards fulfilling the people's aspiration for the same.
Addressing a program organised by Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Association on the 19th anniversary of mountaineer Pasang Lhamu Sherpa's ascent of Mount Everest, PM Bhattarai said that the political parties are close to achieving a breakthrough to conclude the peace and constitution drafting process.
Saying that republican set up, federalism and secularism are the major achievements of the people's movement, he said the political parties are engaged on the task of institutionalizing such important gains.
On the occasion, PM Bhattarai also praised the Sherpa community for playing an important role in making Nepal famous around the world through
their honesty and hard-work.
