Govt forms 'KTM Valley Development Authority'; appoints Keshav Sthapit as its head

The government on Friday announced the formation of Kathmandu Valley Development Authority and appointed former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan Valley, Keshav Sthapit, as its head.
An emergency meeting of the cabinet held in the evening took the decision to this effect.
The authority will oversee the development activities in the Kathmandu Valley. However, the government is yet to formally clarify the mandate and the composition of the authority.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also decided to accept Rs 4.6 billion assistance from Asian Development Bank for the urban development project to be implemented in Kathmandu. nepalnews.com
