Int'l code of ethics for education agents will benefit Nepali students: Australian envoy

Australian Ambassador to Nepal Susan Grace today applauded the new ‘International Code of Ethics’ jointly issued by some countries including Australia for education agents, saying that this would be beneficial for the Nepali students as well.

"The Code aims to ensure all international students, including Nepalese students, receive professional and ethical service when they use agents to help them apply to Australian institutions," the ambassador noted.

Australia is one of the major foreign education destinations for Nepali students. There are over 20,000 Nepali students currently studying in Australia.

United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia had issued 'International Code of Ethics' to education agents and consultancies in March, aiming to regulate the service to students aspiring to go to Australia for academic degree.
