CC meeting ends without taking up agendas due to absence of top leaders
The meeting of the Constitutional Committee (CC) under the Constituent Assembly (CC) held this afternoon ended without taking up the agendas due to the absence of the top leaders of the major political parties.
The CC meeting was called at Singha Durbar to discuss the procedure of constitution promulgation and seek possible way outs of existing disputes among the parties related to the constitution drafting process.
Though the CC meeting was to take place yesterday, it was deferred for today at the request of the major political parties.
UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dhala, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel were absent in the meeting.
The CC meeting has been affected due to the lack of agreement among the major political parties on the thorny issues related to the constitution drafting including form of the governance and state restructuring. nepalnews.com
