President Yadav to consult leaders of 27 parties over country's political deadlock

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is scheduled to hold consultation with the top leaders of 27 political parties including opposition Nepali Congress and CPN-UML as a part of his initiation to end current political impasse of the country on Sunday.

The President is consulting the top leaders in a bid to seek way outs to the deadlock facing the country following the failure of the major political parties to find common ground, said a Shital Niwas source.

President Yadav, who is unhappy with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai for displeasing opposition parties by not seriously taking his advice to bring them into confidence, will discuss about the ordinances related to the election, contemporary politics, formation of the consensus government and possible way outs among other, it is learnt.

According to CPN-ML leader CP Mainali, the President's office has invited the leaders for Sunday morning.

The UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala, vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Oli and the leaders of Madhes-based parties have been invited to the meeting. nepalnews.com
