Govt effortful to create investment friendly environment: FM Pun
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said on Monday that the government was making necessary measures for creating an environment to attract private sector investment in the physical infrastructure, among others.
Speaking at a programme “private investment in infrastructure” jointly organised by the Investment Board and World Bank in the capital, FM Pun said that the government had also taken the concept of public-private partnership to develop infrastructure development.
The government has also given priority to road expansion, hydropower, drinking water and telecommunications under private sector investment, said Pun.
On the occasion, the participants stressed that the government needed to do more to attract investment along with favourable policy.
Investment Board CEO Radhesh Pant acquainted the meeting about the board’s plans and programmes to increase the private sector investment in infrastructure.
Likewise, WB Transport Expert Farhad Ahmed opined that there was a need for public-private concept for infrastructure development. nepalnews.com
