Nepal Army gets new leadership from today

Nepal Army (NA) Lt. General Gaurav Shumsher Rana who was promoted as Acting Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) is taking charge of the NA from Wednesday.

Rana will replace CoAS Chhatraman Singh Gurung who is taking compulsory leave from today ahead of his retirement. However, Gurung will be formally replaced after he retires officially.

According to NA Directorate of Public Relations, Gurung will handover the responisibilities to Rana on Wednesday.

The cabinet meeting had appointed Rana as acting CoAs on August 1. nepalnews.com
