Vice foreign minister Ying to head Chinese delegation in consultative meet
China is sending a high-level delegation led by vice foreign minister Fu Ying for the 9th Nepal-China Mechanism consultative meet to he held in Kathmandu on Monday.
Fu, who is currently in Bhutan, is scheduled arrive in Kathmandu on Saturday. Foreign secretary Durga Bhattarai will head Nepal's delegation, it is learnt.
Fu, who was previously the ambassador to UK and Australia, is the most senior Chinese official to visit Nepal after premier Wen Jiaboa's visit to Kathmandu in January. During the visit, she will meet top leaders of major parties including Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
The consultative meet will also dwell on key issues of mutual interest including trade, Chinese investment in Nepal, boarder security and tourism. It will also review the implementation status of bilateral agreements specially those signed during Chinese premier Wen´s Nepal visit. nepalnews.com
