Transport entrepreneurs to continue strike as talks fail

Transport entrepreneurs said they would continue nationwide transport strike as the talks with the government failed to reach conclusion on Friday.

Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation general secretary Dol Nath Khanal said they decided to continue indefinite transport strike after the government didn't show readiness to address their demands.

A team led by Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Transport, Tulasi Sitaula had held talks with the the entrepreneurs' representatives led by Federation chairman Yogendra Karmacharya.

The transport entrepreneurs have jointly enforced nationwide transport strike from Friday to press the government to address their demands which include creation of a separate transport ministry to work for their welfare, treat the transport sector in par with industries and insurance policy friendly to transport entrepreneurs, among others. nepalnews.com
