Khadka's supporters take to streets against SC verdict

Shortly after Supreme Court announced one-and-half year jail sentence and a penalty of Rs 9.47 million to Nepali Congress leader and former minister Khum Bahadur Khadka for corruption Tuesday evening, his supporters took to the street in Kathmandu.
A group of his supporter demonstrated outside the Court protesting the SC's verdict. They also chanted slogans demanding clean chit to Khadka.
Police arrested a few demonstrators who vandalised a taxi ( Ba 1 Ja 7649) and pelted stones at a van (Na 1 Jha 627) belonging to Nepal Police at Maitighar Mandala.
Similarly, a separate group of Khadka's supporters demonstrated against SC's verdict in Putalisadak area. Due to the demonstrations, vehicular movement has been disrupted in the Valley. nepalnews.com
