Cadres of Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Tarun Dal and UML- aligned Youth Association Nepal have enforced an indefinite Chitwan bandh (shutdown strike) from Thursday noon as police resorted to button charge at them while they were waving black flags at Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.

Around half -a dozen- demonstrators including YAN Foregn Affairs Department member Suraj Tiwari have been hurt in the incident.

The police intervened in the demonstration after the youth wings' cadres waved black flag at PM Bhattarai outside the Bharatpur Airport. He was there to fly back to Kathmandu.

PM Bhattarai had reached Chitwan on Wednesday as part of his monthly schedule to spend a night in a village outside Kathmandu.

He visited Siddhi VDC and had interaction with Chepangs on the problems facing them. There have been reports of poor Chepang community facing shortage of food and clothing. nepalnews.com
