Nepal Bar Association urges PM Bhattarai to fulfill Dr KC's demand

Apprising Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai about the deteriorating health condition of Dr Govinda KC of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), who is on hunger strike since Monday, Nepal Bar Association has urged him to immediately address the demands put forth by Dr KC and break his fast.

Writing a letter to PM Bhattarai on Friday, the Association requested him to save KC's life by addressing his 'genuine' demands.

Dr KC had started fast-unto- death since Monday, demanding that TUTH Dean should be appointed on the basis of seniority and eligibility.

Recently, TU Vice Chancellor Hira Bahadur Maharjan had appointed Dr Dharmakanta Baskota as acting dean going against the decision of the TU executive council meeting that had decided to form a panel to recommend names for the post.

Established in 1983, TUTH is the premier teaching hospital and is one of the well- equipped hospitals of the country. nepalnews.com
