Govt transfers six secretaries; PM Bhattarai to visit Iran

The government has transferred six secretaries. A cabinet meeting Friday evening decided to transfer secretaries Brinda Hada and Tana Gautam to the Prime Minister's Office and Suresh Man Shrestha to the Ministry of Education.

Likewise, Pratap Pathak has been transferred to the Irrigation Ministry while Kishor Thapa and Madhav Regmi have been transferred to the Urban Development Ministry and National Vigilance Centre respectively.

The cabinet has also promoted Lt Colonel Suresh Kumar Baniya to Colonel as recommended by the army headquarters.

In another decision, the cabinet approved Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai's visit to Iran (Aug 30-31). Bhattarai will lead the Nepali delegation to the 18th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit to be held there. nepalnews.com
