Nepali Students in Australia contribute Rs 230,000 to free shelter for elderly and homeless in Ktm
Nepali students in Australia have donated Rs.230,000 to Aamaghar (Mother's Home) a home for elderly women and orphans in Kathmandu.
A cheque on behalf of the students was handed over to Dil Shova Shrestha, who runs Aamaghar, on Saturday by comedians Haribansha Acharya and Madan Krishna Shrestha.
Dilshova, 57, has been helping elderly, disabled and homeless women and orphaned children since 1997. More than 100 people reside in a single building called Aamaghar.
People in Nepal and abroad have been organising fundraiser to assist Shrestha to run the free shelter she has been struggling to run it due to property disputes and lack of funds. nepalnews.com
