NEPSE index plunges below 400 pts
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued to plunge by 0.94 points to below 400 points over last week. The index had plunged by 0.47 points the previous week.
Last week, the secondary market plunged by 0.94 points to settle at 398.28 points on Thursday, the last trading day.
As per the sub-indices, commercial bank posted negative gain of 2.17 points, hydropower 16.65 points, trading 3.29 points, finance 2.22 points and development bank 1.64 points.
Meanwhile, manufacturing groups gained 29.01 points, hotel 0.76, other
3.52 points and insurance 6.65 points.
During the five trading days the stock market traded with 117 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 367.8 million through 6477 transactions while it had traded with 112 companies registering the turnover of Rs.
273.37 million through 5,599 transactions in the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 279.2 million which is 75.91 percent of the total turnover.
Chilime Hydropower Company (Rs. 70.14 million), Kist Bank (Rs. 60.40 million), Everest Bank (Rs. 55.40 million), Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 22.74 million), and Grand Bank (Rs. 15.32 million) were the top five companies to witness the highest transactions over the week. Nepalnews.com
