The UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Sunday said that President Dr Ram Baran Yadav's refusal to approve two ordinances related to election forwarded by the government was inappropriate move. Speaking at an interaction organised by Revolutionary Journalists Association in Chandranigahapur of Rautahat district, the strongman of the ruling Maoist Party also said that practice of turning down the ordinances was not good sign as it would have negative consequences.

He also ruled out any possibility of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai resigning from the post saying that his resignation would provide opportunity to the President to hold power.

"If PM Bhattarai resigns, the President can appoint PM based on his own preference and the governments can be unstable, " he added.

Meanwhile, President Yadav, who rejected government-forwarded two ordinances related to election, has hinted that he would not remain silent if the political crisis prolonged in the country.

Speaking at a programme in Kathmanu on Sunday, he said he might move forward by consulting with the Supreme Court formally or informally to end the crisis facing the nation. He also said that approving the ordinances was irrelevant as the Election Commission has already told the government that conducting the Constituent Assembly polls on 22 November was impossible. nepalnews.com
