Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has directed officials to expedite effective market monitoring to control artificial shortage and black marketing of essential daily commodities.
Addressing the ministry level annual progress review meeting of development programmes and projects and the meeting of the Development Problems Resolution Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies of the last fiscal year in Kathmandu on Sunday, PM Bhattarai also urged the Ministry to maintain smooth supply of essential commodities with effective market monitoring.
Saying that there might be attempts of creating artificial shortage and black marketing of essential daily commodities during up-coming festive season, the PM also directed the concerned authorities to take legal action against those violating the law.
Similarly, he also directed the ministry to find out the possible measures to increase export to reduce trade deficit.
On the same occasion, National Planning Commission Vice Chairman Deependra Bahadur Kshetry also said that domestic product should be given priority and promoted along with boosting economic diplomacy. Nepalnews.com
