Govt decides to send four new ordinances to President

The government on Monday decided to forward four new ordinances to President Ram Baran Yadav for his approval.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to send ordinances to amend the Civil Service Act, Education Service Act, Health Service Act and on investigation of disappeared people and truth and reconciliation.

The cabinet decision to forward more ordinances to the President comes in spite of the rejection of the two election ordinances.

Meanwhile, today's cabinet meeting also decided to extend the deadline of the judicial commission formed to investigate the murder of Supreme Court justice Rana Bahadur Bam by three more months.

According to Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma, the cabinet also decided to request the President to formally appoint acting Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher Rana as the new army chief. nepalnews.com
