Govt to open subsidised commodity shops during festive season
The Department of Commerce and Supplies is preparing to operate markets in various cities including Kathmandu to facilitate the consumers during the up-coming festive season.
The markets will offer goods at reasonable price thereby discouraging artificial price hike, the department said.
The department is preparing to operate the subsidied markets in corporation with Salt Trading Limited, National Trading Company and Nepal Food Corporation.
The subsidised groceries will come into operation within two weeks. The Department has also released a three-month action plan to make arrangements for smooth supply of goods and services, RSS said quoting director general of the department Narayan Prasad Bidari.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Monday had directed the concerned authorities to expedite monitoring to control the price and black marketing of daily commodities. nepalnews.com
