Two Maoist activists killed in 12 hrs span

Not even 12 hours after UCPN (Maoist) Dhading district committee member Bijay Tamang was shot dead, a former Maoist party activist has also been murdered in the district.

The deceased Maoist activists identified as Bhishan Simkhada, 30, was murdered by an unidentified gang following his abduction from his home Monday night, District Police Office said.

Simkhada’s body was later found at Ratmate of Darkha VDC the same night. His hands and legs were tied with a rope and he had bruises all over body indicating that he was beaten up before being killed, police said Simkhada had left the Maoist party just few days ago.

Police said they are investigating the case and trying to ascertain the motive behind the murder of former Maoist activist.
