Unity govt under Bhattarai unacceptable: UML

UML leaders have said that it will not accept Baburam Bhattarai as the Prime Minister of a government of national consensus. Talking to mediapersons after the party's Standing Committee meeting, the leaders said UCPN (M) has betrayed other political forces by not backing Sushil Koirala's candidacy for the top post of PM.

"The meeting decided to back NC's candidate for premiership. Opposition parties cannot join the present government," said UML leader Bamdev Gautam after the meeting.

"UCPN (Maoist), which was time and again asking NC to name its candidate for the post, has betrayed other political parties by not backing Koirala," said leader Bidya Bhandari.

The party's central committee meeting has been slated for Sunday. nepalnews.com
