Nepali team to participate in 13th Asia-Pacific Karate Championship
A 24-member Nepali team including 18 players is set to participate in the 13th Asia-Pacific Karate Championship scheduled to begin from December 12 to 16 in Hong Kong. The team is scheduled to leave for HK on Tuesday.
National Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Yuvaraj Lama congratulated the players and wished success in the championship during the farewell programme organised in the capital on Monday.
The players comprises of Sunil Lama, Binod Maharjan, Mukunda Maharjan, Bhim Bahadur Tamang, Digambar Prasad Panta in men’s section while Anu Adhikari, Roji Nagarkoti, Sapana Lama, Kalpana Basnet and Ganga Devi Adhikari will compete in women’s category.
Similarly, Parsuram Bastola will compete in men’s individual kata while Mandekaji Shrestha, Kedar Sinkhada and Ganesh Bahadur Thing will vie in team kata.
Likewise, Chanchala Danuwar will fight in women’s kata while Subhadra Shrestha, Sangita Dangol and Suman Lama will compete in team kata. nepalnews.com
